During a legal career surpassing thirty-five years, Michael Robertson has contributed much to the field of law as a solicitor, barrister, law professor, law school head, academic writer, and law school teacher.

Through his experience as a senior legal academic, legal practitioner and university manager (as Head of the School of Law at both Griffith University and the University of Southern Queensland) he has developed skills in many areas including in research, interviewing, analysis, legal reasoning, fact-finding and written communication including report writing.

As an independent consultant, Michael has conducted extensive reviews of university integrity policies and responsibilities, preparing comprehensive reports and advising recommendations. An accomplished investigator, Michael has conducted investigations pursuant to public interest disclosure policy into allegations of staff misconduct.

Since joining Q Workplace Solutions, Michael has applied his wealth of legal knowledge to complex workplace investigations for both public and private sector employers, including investigations into allegations of bullying, unethical conduct and maladministration.

Michael has leant his considerable intellect and experience to various community service activities during the course of his professional life. He has collaborated with the Legal Services Commission in presenting a seminar series, was lead organizer of the 3rd International Legal Ethics Conference and participated as a member of the management committee for a charity for the disabled.

Michael’s current intellectual interests include professional and organisational ethics and standards. He has published books and articles in a wide range of legal fields during his career.
