Peter Richards served as Industrial Registrar, Commissioner and Senior Deputy President of the Fair Work Commission (and its predecessor bodies) over nearly 20 years. Peter has continued his role in the tribunal system and currently serves as Chair of the Brisbane City Council Independent Remuneration Tribunal. Almost two decades with the commission ensured Peter’s exposure to a wide range of enterprise bargaining and industry disputes across numerous industry sectors. Peter dealt with applications ranging from bargaining disputes and industrial action compliance orders to unfair dismissal and general protection related anti-discrimination and bullying claims. Peter also served on a specialist panel of members hearing organisational disputes and contentious variations to eligibility rules and right of entry permit matters.

A proficient writer and communicator, Peter has provided written advice and case assessments and arbitrated myriad claims. He has published over 1000 substantive decisions has been published in the Industrial Reports on 80 occasions.
